Chapter 4
The First Trust.
“Trust doesn’t arrive suddenly. It arrives when someone decides to entrust you with a piece of their life.”
The first year was the hardest. We didn’t yet know the territory well, and the territory didn’t know us. Every day we opened our small office on Via Nicolaci with enthusiasm, but also with a lot of questions.
The first family to place their trust in us arrived almost out of curiosity. They were originally from Palermo and had recently moved to Noto. They were looking for a house in town to live in every day: bright, comfortable, suited to their family.
Carlo already had solid experience in real estate. After listening to what they needed, he immediately sensed which house could be the right one. We visited it together.
I still remember the excitement of those days. For me everything was new: every appointment was a discovery, every phone call a small step forward.
When that family decided to buy the house, we made our first sale. The joy didn’t come so much from the financial result as from the fact that someone had believed in us. It was the first concrete sign that the project could truly grow.
With the proceeds from that sale, we bought our first computer. Today that might seem like a small detail, but back then it represented an important milestone. It wasn’t just a work tool: it was the first investment made possible by a client’s trust.
Every time we turned it on, it reminded us that the dream born in front of a faded sign on Via Nicolaci was slowly taking shape.
That evening, heading home, the computer wasn’t on our desk yet. But inside, we knew something had changed. For the first time, we weren’t just chasing a dream anymore. We were beginning to live it.
